Gautam Singhania-Nawaz Modi divorce: Gautam Singhania, the billionaire Chairman of Raymond Group, on Monday announced that he and his wife of 32 years, Nawaz Modi Singhania, had parted ways. This came hours after a video surfaced in which Nawaz is seen alleging that she was stopped from attending her husband’s Diwali party on Sunday, November 12.

On Monday, Gautam Singhania shared a post on X, saying that he and Nawaz are no longer together.

“This Diwali is not going to be the same as many in the past. It is my belief that Nawaz and I will pursue different paths from here on. 32 years of being together as a couple, growing as parents and always being a strength of each other… we traversed with commitment, resolve, faith as along came the two most beautiful additions in our lives,” he said.

Who is Nawaz Modi?

Being fit and taking care of our body internally, eating a balanced diet is one of the most important ways to take care of yourself and lead a healthy and long life. Nawaz Modi is an influential figure in the field of fitness and health. With years of experience in the fitness industry, she has been a prominent figure in advocating healthy habits in life. She is a yoga practitioner, fitness trainer, and motivational speaker, and also a believer in spirituality. The founder of Body Art Fitness and ex-wife of business tycoon Gautam Singhania, the chairman and managing director of Raymond Group, Nawaz is one of the most celebrated icons in the fitness industry.

Nawaz’s early life

Nawaz was born in Mumbai and is the middle kid, who has an elder and a younger brother. Their father was a lawyer, her parents separated when Nawaz was 10 years old. The brothers have chosen the same career path as their father. Nawaz too holds a degree in law. She attended the New Activity School at Hughes Road and completed her schooling at Cathedral and John Cannon School in Mumbai. After finishing her schooling she pursued a Bachelor’s in Arts from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai. Nawaz then completed her studies after receiving a degree in law from Government Law College and KC Law College both in Mumbai.

Nawaz’s fitness journey

Nawaz from a very young age was interested in sports and was thoroughly into fitness by the time she was in college. Her passion for fitness and a healthy body has always been her priority. While finishing her degree she also traveled to get trained in the United States by The International Dance Exercise Association (IDEA) and the American Council of Exercise (ACE). Nawaz after receiving an official certificate from them began providing classes to gain experience before returning to India to launch her own venture, the Body Art Fitness centres, in Mumbai.

Nawaz, who was 21 at the time, pursued her entrepreneurial dream in the family home’s hallway while her flat was being refurbished on another floor of the same building. It first started as an Aerobic Studio and she thereafter expanded her business. She conducted lessons in batches and soon it became so popular she was able to set up a fully functioning place dedicated to workouts and which was equipped with machines.

Nawaz established a gym, and later she became the first to open a Pilates and Gyrotonics studio in India using equipment. Then came a personal training facility, an aerial arts studio, and more, according to Nawaz. The company quickly expanded to a second site, then a third, and a fourth.

Apart from being a fitness enthusiast, she also likes visiting art galleries and collecting art pieces. She is also an author and has published a book called Time Arrest, by Penguin Random House.

The Singhania’s luxurious life

The second-tallest and priciest building, JK House, is owned by Gautam Singhania and is worth Rs. 6000 crore. According to an IndiaTimes story, it comes in second place to Mukesh and Nita Ambani’s Antilia, which is valued at Rs 12,000 crore. According to an IndiaTimes source, the opulent home, which spans 16,000 square feet, is housed in a 30-story building and is situated in Mumbai. The opulent residence has two pools, a spa, and a helipad.

The skyscraper, according to The New York Post, also houses a private museum that chronicles the family’s century-long history in the fabric industry. His automobile collection, which spans five levels and includes models like the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570 Superleggera, Lotus Elise convertible, Nissan Skyline GTR, Honda S2000, Ferrari 458 Italia, and Audi Q7, among others, is housed in the home.
