Dong-A ST partners with AITRICS for digital healthcare collaboration < Device/ICT < Article
Dong-A ST signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday with Korean AI healthcare company AITRICS to establish a collaborative framework that leverages innovative technology to enhance healthcare services domestically and abroad.
The partnership will see both companies work together to expand the domestic digital healthcare market, explore global business opportunities, and diversify export offerings.
As part of this collaboration, AITRICS will provide Dong-A ST with various AI solutions, including its flagship product, AITRICS-VC (VitalCare), which Dong-A ST plans to distribute in both domestic and international markets through its broad distribution network.
AITRICS-VC, an AI tool designed to analyze hospitalized patients’ vital signs and blood test data, can predict severe conditions such as sepsis and cardiac arrest. Already in use at several medical institutions, including Gangnam Severance Hospital, AITRICS-VC received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval in August, marking what AITRICS described as a “full-fledged entry” into the global market.
Dong-A ST has also been actively expanding its digital healthcare business. In July 2022, the company signed a domestic licensing agreement with Mezoo, a Korean developer of wearable ECG monitoring devices, to supply remote ECG monitoring systems such as HiCardi, HiCardi+, and LiveStudio to over 400 medical institutions in Korea. In early 2023, Dong-A ST furthered its global ambitions with an overseas licensing agreement, and in September, Mezoo secured FDA approval for its Holter monitor, HiCardi+ H100.
“This agreement is expected to accelerate our global expansion by combining Dong-A ST’s extensive distribution channels with our technology,” said AITRICS CEO Kim Kwang-joon. “Together, we will strive for meaningful results to improve healthcare services both at home and abroad.”
Dong-A ST CEO Jung Jae-hun added, “I believe this partnership with AITRICS will be instrumental in building a digital healthcare ecosystem.”
