This innovative partnership is set to revolutionize the way medical services are delivered in the country, providing greater access to healthcare, especially in remote and underserved areas. The telemedicine solutions introduced will bridge gaps in healthcare accessibility, reduce wait times, and enhance the quality of care, aligning with Vietnam’s broader efforts to embrace digital transformation in its healthcare system. Vietnam’s healthcare system has long been burdened by a shortage of healthcare professionals, with the ratio of healthcare workers to patients significantly below the global average. This issue has become even more pronounced as the population continues to age, and the incidence of chronic diseases rises. As the demand for healthcare services intensifies, the need for more innovative solutions to address these challenges has become undeniable. The solutions introduced by the Taiwan Smart Healthcare Alliance focus on three primary areas: “Teleconsultation,” “Smart Operating Room,” and “Telesitting.” These areas have been selected for their potential to make a significant impact on the efficiency and quality of healthcare services.
Teleconsultation enables patients to consult with medical professionals remotely, reducing the need for in-person visits and making healthcare more accessible, especially for individuals living in remote or rural areas. With the teleconsultation system, patients can access a range of medical services, from consultations with general practitioners to specialist advice, all from the comfort of their homes. This is particularly crucial for Vietnam, where many rural areas are often underserved by medical professionals.
The Smart Operating Room component focuses on leveraging advanced technologies to improve surgical outcomes. By incorporating digital imaging, robotic surgery, and AI-assisted diagnostic tools, the smart operating room ensures that surgeries are more precise and efficient. This innovation is designed to improve patient outcomes while reducing the burden on surgeons and other medical staff, allowing for better resource management.
Telesitting, the third key area, focuses on patient monitoring and support within hospitals. These efforts are designed to ensure that the solutions are accessible to both Vietnamese healthcare professionals and patients. Additionally, the alliance has participated in various Taiwan–Vietnam medical seminars, major healthcare exhibitions, and distributor networking events. These events provided an opportunity for the alliance to showcase its products, engage with potential partners, and build relationships with local healthcare providers.
Beyond business ventures, the Taiwan Smart Healthcare Alliance has also launched a corporate social responsibility (CSR) project in rural Vietnamese communities.
