OPELOUSAS, La. — Acadiana Workforce Solutions (AWS) announced the launch of the Country Road Inclusion Project, a transformative initiative aimed at addressing the demand for skilled healthcare workers in Acadiana while providing equitable opportunities for marginalized and rural communities. The project got underway on Wednesday, January 15.

This innovative project brings together key community partners, including regional Housing Authorities, the St. Landry Community Action Agency for transportation services, South Louisiana Community College (SoLAcc), Louisiana State University at Eunice (LSUE), and two major healthcare employers—Ochsner Lafayette General and Opelousas General Health System and Transfer VR services.

St. Landry Parish Government / Acadiana Workforce Solutions was one of the three recipients in Louisiana to receive 1.5 million from the Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities (WORC) Round 6 Grant: A Grant Initiative for the Appalachian, Delta, and Northern Border Regions.
